Away from Leeds’ current poor run of form, one of the biggest stories of the Whites’ season is the re-emergence of Stuart Dallas.
The Northern Irishman was something of a fringe player last term as he started just 12 games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but this season he’s been indispensable, starting every single match for the Yorkshire club.

He’s mostly been deployed as a central midfielder this term, starting there on 13 occasions, but there is one aspect of his game that he needs to improve if he is going to tie that role down.
Indeed, Dallas has netted just three times this term despite having the third-highest shot tally of any player in the squad, firing at goal 54 times.
Now, we’re not saying that he has to become a top-class finisher, but when he’s getting that many shots off he has to find the net more often.
Marcelo Bielsa has often relied on his midfielders to be goalscorers, for example last term Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez both reached double figures, but Dallas hasn’t scored as regularly as he probably should have.
He is getting into all the right positions with 21 shots inside the penalty area this season, as well as one inside the six-yard box, but his accuracy does need to improve if he’s going to tie that role down long-term.
He can do it too as he showed how clinical he can be in last May’s playoff semi-final at Elland Road where he netted a brace, but those types of performances need to be a lot more regular going forward.
In other news, Marcelo Bielsa still has some explaining to do after this weekend.
