Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to react after Gary Neville said on Monday Night Football (via Manchester Evening News – 08:53) that he thinks Ashley Young is ‘fine’ to stay at the club for another 12 months.

The pundit was discussing which players the Red Devils need to let go and which ones should stay, and his comments on Young haven’t gone down too well with the Old Trafford faithful.

The 33-year-old right-back – who has been converted from an out-and-out winger – has performed capably in defence over the last few seasons, but has endured a torrid time in the position throughout the current campaign.

Young has been used in a number of different positions throughout the current campaign, although predominately at right-back, where his awful performances haven’t left him in the good books of United fans.

So, understandably, Neville’s comments suggesting that he can stay at the club haven’t gone down too well with Red Devils supporters on Twitter…
