Most footballers that use Twitter deliver their brief post-match thoughts on the social networking website.
Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus kept his words to himself, but he did upload an image of his goal celebration from the second leg of the team’s Champions League quarter-final tie against Liverpool.
However, the photo did not exactly fit the narrative of the game as City were knocked out by their English rivals.
Jesus slotted the ball home in the second minute of the encounter, but his side were unable to overturn the 3-0 deficit from the first leg, and Pep Guardiola’s team ended up suffering a 5-1 aggregate loss.
A number of City supporters were disappointed with Jesus’s display from the Anfield trip as he failed to muster a single shot.
The Brazilian managed to hit the target in the reverse fixture, but it was not a real moment of celebration considering the mountain that City still had to climb.
Despite the result, Jesus posted an image of himself post-goal, and it attracted some interesting comments from Liverpool supporters.
