Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches on Sunday with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates.
The Gunners never looked like losing the match and while Brighton battled impressively for spells in the match, the quality of Arsene Wenger’s side shone through.
Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi were the unlikely goalscorers on the day, stepping up in place of goal shy attackers Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal fans were hoping for a performance from Lacazette in particular, believing a home game against the Premier League new boys was a perfect opportunity for him to impress and add to his goal tally this season.
The Frenchman has scored four goals so far this term but it’s in matches like this that fans expect him to dominate. He did smash the post with a stunning long-range shot, but was ultimately frustrated before being subbed off in the 71st minute.
