Newcastle United attacker Ayoze Perez posted on his official Twitter account on Monday lookign to the future after scoring for the third successive Premier League match in the 2-1 victory against Arsenal at St James’ Park on Sunday, and Magpies fans were quick to react to the tweet from the £7.2m-rated man.
Rafa Benitez’s men surpassed the magic 40-point mark with the success against the Gunners, with Perez’s first-half leveller being followed by Matt Ritchie’s winner after the interval.
The Spaniard came under criticism from some of the St James’ Park faithful for his performances earlier in the campaign, but he now has three goals and one assist in his last three top flight outings as the Toon look to finish the campaign strongly.
Newcastle supporters took to social media to after the 24-year-old’s post, and while one said “you’ve been a great servant since arriving in 2014”, another said “I thought you were out of your depth at this level. I’m happy to admit I was wrong”.
