Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react to the latest update over a potential takeover from Amanda Staveley, as reported by The Chronicle.

The Tyneside outlet claims that takeover talks are resurfacing at a time where Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will most certainly not want them to, as he attempts to focus on maintaining Newcastle’s Premier League status.

As per the article, it looked as if Mike Ashley’s tenure as Newcastle owner was set to come to an end in early December, although there is now an acceptance within the club that the businessman will remain at St James’ Park until at least the summer.

So, with huge relegation clashes with Huddersfield Town and Burnley on the horizon, the last thing that Benitez would’ve wanted is to see Staveley dig up the takeover talk when talking to The National.
