Wolves are reportedly set to bolster their attack with another big-money swoop, spending £18m on Adama Traore from Middlesbrough.
With the transfer deadline drawing closer, that deal could spark a transfer chain of wingers that takes place in both the Premier League and Championship, and Football FanCast has taken a closer look…
Adama Traore to Wolves
Nuno Santo has already assembled a frightening frontline at Molineux and the capture of Traore would only add to that.
The winger came on leaps and bounds under Tony Pulis last season – he is now ready to make a real impact on the Premier League and so are Wolves.
This is a signing that should be so exciting for Old Gold fans, and although Boro will lose their talisman, they will have ample funds and time to secure a replacement. Brighton’s Solly March has been linked.
Ivan Cavaleiro to West Brom
Traore’s arrival would give Santo an array of choice in the wide areas as he joins Diego Jota, Helder Costa, Raul Jimenez and Ivan Cavaleiro at Molineux.
Cavaleiro was linked with a move away earlier in the transfer window and Traore’s arrival would surely only push him further down the pecking order and closer to the exit door.
He made a real impact in the Championship last season and West Brom could make a cheeky swoop on the Midlands rivals to boost their bid for instant promotion.
Nacer Chadli to Crystal Palace
Chadli enjoyed a strong World Cup and reports have linked him with a move to Turkey to attempt to retain his place in the Belgium squad.
However, remaining in the Premier League would also do the same trick and Crystal Palace must be looking to belatedly kickstart their transfer activity after a summer of stalling.
The Eagles reportedly risk losing Andros Townsend to Newcastle and would need reinforcements out wide.
That need is only exacerbated by the constant speculation over Wilfried Zaha’s future, which means Roy Hodgson should look at hijacking Besiktas’ bid for Chadli as a matter of urgency.
