Jack Grealish has done enough to warrant a place in England’s starting lineup claims Telegraph journalist John Percy.Once described by Tim Sherwood as the ‘closest thing to Gazza’ – that is Paul Gascoigne – the man who led Aston Villa back to the Premier League could be in line to emulate England’s legendary midfield magician if Gareth Southgate opts to gives him his chance. The 24-year-old has four goals and four assists in 11 appearances in all competitions so far this term.Watch Aston Villa Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below
Grealish represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, however, after some deliberation, decided that he would make himself available for England in 2015. Declan Rice made a similar decision this year.
Villa’s captain has played seven times for England u21s but is yet to receive a call-up to Southgate’s senior squad. Should he be inducted, Grealish would join teammate Tyrone Mings, whose international debut came against Bulgaria earlier this month.
While the rest of the nation likely despair over yet another international break (they really are the worst), Grealish will be sat waiting for his call.
