The match highlighted just how far both teams have fallen since their glory days as the football on display was nothing short of drab.
Many pundits and journalists took to Twitter to speak about how uninspiring this fixture was, and Chris Sutton delivered a particularly scathing verdict with a pretty huge claim.
Sutton claims that based off of Monday evening’s evidence he wouldn’t back United or Arsenal to finish in the top two of the Scottish Premiership.
It’s certainly an interesting take, but after seeing how poor the two sides were at Old Trafford it’s hard to completely dismiss this point of view.
Of course, it’s also tough to completely agree with Sutton, but the fact that this argument can even be made these days shows how weak the two Premier League giants are at this point in time.
